आजको युग सूचना प्रविधिको युग हो। सूचना प्रविधिको उपयोग नगरीकन प्रजातन्त्र र विकास प्रक्रियामा आमजनतालाई समावेश गर्न सकिँदैन भन्ने कुरा नेपालले पनि अनुभव गरिसकेको छ र यसको विकासको लागि राज्यले संकल्प गरिसकेको छ । सूचना र प्रविधिको संयोजनले सिंगो संसार नै ऐउटा सानो गाउँ बनेको छ। सूचना प्रविधिको विकासले आज संसारको कुनै पनि कुनामा रहेका व्यक्ति, संस्थासँग सजिलै सम्पर्क स्थापित गर्न सक्छन् । तैपनि नेपालमा सूचना प्रविधि, खास गरी कम्प्युटर र इन्टरनेटमा, आमजनताको पहुँच हुन सकेको छैन । (more…)

नेपाललाई सूचना प्रविधिको विश्‍व मानचित्रमा स्थापित गर्ने उदेश्यले अगाडि बढेको नेपाल गाम्रीण सूचना प्रविधि विकास समाजले (NRIDS) स्याङ्जामा सूचना सामुदायिक केन्द्रको स्थापना गरेको छ। यस सूचना सामुदायिक केन्द्रको मूल उदेश्य नै गाम्रीण भेगका जनतालाई सूचना प्रविधिसँग आवध्द गर्नु हो। (more…)

सुर्योदय क्लबको साधरण सभा यही कार्तिक १८ गते स्याङ्जा जिल्लाको बाड्खोलामा श्री अनन्त कुमार श्रेष्‍ठ ज्यूको अध्यक्षतामा सम्पन्न भयो। सो साधारण सभाले निम्न अनुसारका कार्य समितिको चयन गर्यो ।

Community Information Center Established in Syangja, Mayatari on 2nd October 2005 With the initiation of Nepal Rural Information Technology Development Society(NRIDS) and active participation of the local people people the first community Information center in syangja is established. This center provides the basic functionalities of a library, language class, and the meeting point of the people ffor various discussions and decision making.

Community Information Centers: A pilot Project in Syangja Abstract: Community Information Center (CIC) can reduce poverty by improving poor people’s access to education, health, government and financial services. CIC can also help rural farmers by connecting them to markets. This paper outlines a simple explanation why a digital divide may exist between rich and poor.
